The bodies of Golf, Jetta, Scirocco cars are subjected to anti-corrosion treatment during manufacture, therefore, since 1979, they have been guaranteed protection against corrosion for 6 years.
The front fenders are bolted on and are easy to replace, but if you don't have special painting equipment, it's best to prep and paint the fender before installation by entrusting this work to a specialist.
The boot lid/tailgate, front fenders, hood and doors can be replaced by yourself, the rest of the body panels are welded on and can only be replaced by a specialist.
When installing body parts, remember to install sound insulation and seals in their places, and also treat body panel joints with mastic to prevent water or condensation from entering.
Plastic retainers (buttons) remove the interior upholstery panels with a large screwdriver, pressing them away from the body together with the upholstery. Insert a screwdriver directly under the button so as not to damage the upholstery.
Disconnect the wire "masses" from the battery before removing any electrical part.
