When connecting batteries, pay attention to the following:
- 1. The external battery must have the same nominal voltage as the discharged one.
- 2. Connecting wires must be thick enough to carry the starter current (about 300 A).
- 3. The wire clamps must be in good contact with the battery terminals.
- 4. The wires should be connected to the discharged and external batteries at the same time: first connect the positive terminals, and then the negative ones.
- 5. If the external battery is installed in another vehicle, start its engine before starting the engine with a dead battery to prevent the second battery from draining quickly.
- 6. Before disconnecting the wires, reduce the speed of both engines to 1000 rpm or less.
Do not disconnect the vehicle electrical wires from the battery while the engine is running.
