Idle speed adjustment
The idle speed is adjusted in the same way as on carbureted engines. The adjusting screw is located on the rear side of the throttle body near the intake manifold (pic. B:25).
NOTE: If the fuel injector pipes have been disconnected, the engine must run for at least one minute at 3000 rpm and at least two minutes at idle before beginning adjustment.
Mixture Adjustment (CO content) idle
Start the mixture adjustment after adjusting the idle speed and meeting the prerequisites listed above.
NOTE: If there is an idle speed module (DIS) it must be disconnected and the wires shorted as described above. The use of a gas analyzer when adjusting the composition of the mixture is MANDATORY.
Let the engine run at 3000 rpm for two minutes, then idle and check the CO content on the gas analyzer. Record the gas analyzer reading and compare with the value given in section "Technical data". If adjustment is necessary, remove the plug (B, fig. B:26) from the hole between the plastic air duct and the fuel distributor housing and using a long 3 mm hex wrench (Ah, fig. B:26) turn the adjusting screw. To increase the CO content, the screw must be rotated clockwise, and to decrease it, counterclockwise. DO NOT lift or press the screw while making adjustments. Delete the key.
ATTENTION! After each adjustment, IMMEDIATELY REMOVE the hex key and increase the engine speed by briefly depressing the accelerator pedal. Untimely removal of the key will cause damage to the internal parts of the air flow sensor.
After completing the adjustment, reinstall the plug Connect the idle speed module DIS (in the presence of) and check idle speed.
