Engine 1.1 /1.3 l
The cooling pump is located at the front of the cylinder block and is driven by a toothed camshaft drive belt (pic. E:3).
To remove the pump, drain the coolant from the system as described above, remove the alternator drive belt and toothed belt (see chapter "Engine 1.1/1.3").
Remove the rear toothed belt cover plate. The three bottom plate mounting bolts simultaneously hold the cooling pump in the cylinder block. Take the pump together with a sealing ring from a niche in the block of cylinders.
Installation of a new pump is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Replace the O-ring if damaged or leaking fluid. Before finally tightening the bolts, install the toothed belt and adjust its tension by turning the cooling pump. The tension of the belt should be such that the longest section of the belt can be twisted with your fingers 90 (see section "Toothed belt" chapters "Engine 1.1/1.3"). After tightening the belt, finally tighten the pump mounting bolts and the back plate of the toothed belt cover.
Engine 1.5/1.6/1.8 l
The coolant pump is housed in a housing attached to the front of the cylinder block and is driven by the alternator drive belt (rice. E:4).
It is recommended to remove the pump from the cylinder block together with its housing (otherwise, to gain access to the pump cover bolts, you will have to remove the crankshaft pulley, toothed belt and auxiliary shaft sprocket).
Loosen the alternator mounting bolts, rotate the alternator up towards the cylinder block and remove the drive belt.
Turn out three bolts of fastening of a pulley to a nave of the cooling pump.
Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the lower pump connection and drain the coolant from the cooling system.
Disconnect the hoses from the back of the pump housing. Turn out four bolts of fastening of the case of the pump to the block of cylinders and remove the pump in gathering. If the pump housing is stuck to the cylinder block, tap the housing lightly to loosen it.
Loosen the nuts and bolts and separate the pump cover from the housing.
Install the new pump in the reverse order of removal.
Make sure that the mating surfaces of the cover and pump housing are free of old gasket residue. Use new gaskets when assembling. Tighten the bolts to the torque specified in section "Technical data".
When installing the pump on the cylinder block, install a new sealing ring. Tighten the pump mounting bolts with a torque of 2.0 kgm.
Adjust the alternator drive belt tension so that its deflection when pressed with a finger in the middle between the alternator and crankshaft pulleys is approximately 12 mm.
