The brake caliper is attached to the wheel bearing housing. In previous models, conventional six-headed bolts were used for this. Since the end of 1981, so-called grooved bolts have been mounted to fasten the bracket. Behind the hexagonal head they have a corrugated surface. This results in better fixation of the bolt. For replacement, there are only such grooved bolts. If ordinary bolts are replaced with knurled ones, the fixing holes of the bracket should be chamfered. It should have a width of 1 mm and an angle of 45 degrees.
Remove wheel.
Remove brake pads.
Loosen the bracket fixing screws.
Attach the bracket with the brake hose in such a way that the hose is not under load.
Or remove the brake line (see section "Brake Hose Replacement") and bind.
Tighten knurled bolts to 70 Nm, conventional hexagon bolts to 60 Nm.
Bleed the brake system if the brake hose was removed.
If the brake hose was not removed, depress the pedal several times to install the brake linings.
