Wheel imbalance

Wheel imbalance is detected by the vibration of the steering wheel or vibrations in the front of the machine. At certain velocities, both of these phenomena are particularly pronounced. The reason is the uneven distribution of the mass of the wheel around the circumference. The wheels must be statically and dynamically balanced. There are two methods for this.

The wheel is removed from the machine and installed on a balancing machine. This is how balancing is done. The imbalance values appear on the display. Balance can be achieved by installing lead counterweights.

To eliminate residual imbalance, more accurate balancing is needed. It is also necessary that the wheel hub and brake disc are balanced. The wheels are not removed from the machine, but directly on it are brought into rotation on a special stand.

Instruction. The front wheels with more precise balancing cannot be driven by an electric motor. One-way acceleration damages the differential. Instead of this "Volkswagen" lifted on supports in front; the engine turns the front wheels in 4th gear (speed up to 90 km/h).
