For the rear window heating system, the power supply may vary depending on the year of manufacture: before July 1977 - separate switching and control current through the rear window heating relay; after August 1977 - directly through the X-contact unloading relay and the rear window heating switch.

Troubleshooting
Check the appropriate fuse, see fuse table, chapter "Electrical wires and fuses". Models manufactured before July 1977 have a fuse each for the switching and control current lines.
Check that the wire connectors at the heated rear window are securely fixed.
Remove the switch and check, see sections "Removing the switch" And "Switch test".
Check relay operation.
If no defect is found, it is also necessary to check the wire along the entire length and the connection "to mass".
A conventional test lamp, which has a large internal resistance, is only conditionally suitable for checking the filament. A device with light diodes is better suited
If a single filament is damaged and opens because of this, a conductive varnish will help. This varnish, for example, is produced by "Doduko".
