Removing the starter in a car with an automatic transmission

In cars with automatic transmission, the starter is located at the rear, near the gearbox housing.

Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

Loosen the bolt at the top of the starter.

Remove axle shaft from gearbox.

Remove heat insulating sheet.

Remove screws at bottom of starter.

Disconnect starter wires.

Turn the steering wheel to the right.

Turn the half shaft back and move it up.

Turn the starter drive side up and pull it down between the axle shaft and the engine

The screw tightening torque is 16 Nm.

Removing the solenoid relay

Remove starter.

Disconnect wire between relay and starter.

Loosen the three screws at the relay flange.

Remove relay.
