Regular and Intermediate Maintenance
For models "Volkswagen '', depending on the year of manufacture, different maintenance instructions apply. For cars up to 1982 release (inclusive) they are:
- intermediate maintenance including oil change. - after 7500 km of run;
- regular maintenance - after 15,000 km or no later than 1 year;
- regular maintenance, including additional work, is carried out every 30,000 km.
For cars manufactured after August 1982, intermediate maintenance is not carried out, only an oil change is carried out after 7500 km of track.
Time interval or kilometer interval?
Even an unused car is subject to aging. Therefore, regular maintenance should be carried out every year, even if 15,000 km of track has not yet been covered. This is fully justified, since within one year, for example, one cuff may lose elasticity, as a result of which dirt may penetrate into the drive joint or into the steering mechanism. If you do not take into account the requirements of annual maintenance, you may have to carry out expensive repairs.
The same goes for oil changes. An engine that runs for a short time on low city runs collects significantly more condensate and dirt than an engine that runs for a long time on country roads. This causes significant damage to the lubricating properties of the oil. The oil should be changed no later than 6 months.
