Safety rules for car operation

Correct operating conditions of the car are integral rules for maintaining traffic safety. Therefore, before you hit the road, be sure to pour the following:

• Check the operation of the headlights and turn signals.
• Check fuel level.
• Adjust mirrors.
• Check that all headlights and windows are clean.
• Make sure the air intake slots in the engine cowling are clear of leaves, snow and ice.
• After starting the engine, check the operation of all warning lights and indicators.

In addition to this, it is necessary to regularly check many parts and assemblies.

Moreover, in order to ensure traffic safety, it is mandatory to carry out maintenance of your car.

Your own driving style, as well as the position of the body during driving, also affect the degree of safety.

• Therefore: be sure to wear your seat belts, even if you are driving in the city.
• Make sure all passengers are wearing their seat belts, even those in the back seat.

Passengers not wearing seat belts not only endanger themselves in the event of an accident, but also the driver and other passengers.

• Adjust your seat so that you can easily reach any control while driving.
• Be sure to adjust the height of the head restraint. The top edge of the headrest should be at the level of your ears.
• Make sure that all pedals move freely.
• Stow luggage and other light objects carefully: in the luggage compartment, on the rear docking panel, in the roof rack.
• Do not drive while intoxicated.

The use of alcohol, drugs, certain types of medications negatively affects the senses of perception, the reaction of a person, his driving ability, and increase the risk of creating an emergency situation and injury.

• Do not drive if you feel tired. Make more frequent rest stops (at least every two hours).
• Always drive at a speed that is appropriate for traffic, weather and road conditions.

Remember that driving a car, its braking is more dependent on the amount of adhesion of tires to the road surface (especially if the road surface is smooth and slippery). On wet roads, the front wheels may skid when the vehicle is moving at high speeds. In this case, you will not be able to drive or brake properly.

• Be sure to obey the speed limit signs.
