Pic. 2.7. Lubrication system diagram
1 - camshaft; 2 - oil pressure sensor in the head; 3 - intermediate shaft; 4 - crankshaft; 5 - oil filter; 6 - overflow valve; 7 - oil sump; 8 - oil drain plug; 9 - oil pump sucker; 10 - oil pump; 11 - overload valve.
Pump 10 sucks oil from the oil sump through suction 9 and delivers it to the oil filter. The overload valve 11 opens when the side filter becomes dirty. The oil then flows into the lubrication system past the filter through the overload valve. The overflow valve 6 protects the system from an uncontrolled increase in pressure. An oil pressure sensor 2 is located in the head. Engines 1.6 and 1.8 are equipped with two oil pressure sensors. One is in the oil filter bracket and the other is in the head. There is a check valve in the head of engines with hydraulic pushers, which allows oil to remain in the pushers even after the engine is turned off.
