1. To disengage the engine from the gearbox, it is necessary to support the engine or do the following while the engine and gearbox are hung on a frame or winch.
2. Disconnect the wire from the generator, then loosen the clamps holding the wire to the side walls of the oil pan.
3. Because the rear starter rotor bushing is in a tapered housing, the starter must be removed before the engine and transmission are separated. Before unscrewing the starter, it is also necessary to disconnect the exhaust pipe bracket (photo 1.106).
4. Unscrew the coolant pipe with collar from the back of the water pump and clutch housing.
5. To turn away a bolt of the plate closing a flywheel and to take out it.
6. Unscrew and remove the remaining bolts securing the clutch housing to the engine, and disconnect the gearbox. The wedges between the engine and the clutch housing must not be driven in, as may damage the surface or cause the case to crack. The middle plate covering the flywheel remains on the engine.
