1. Disconnect the wire clamps from the battery.
2. Make sure that the car is in a well-ventilated place.
3. Holding a rag over the connection to avoid splashing fuel, loosen the pressure control connection on the start valve. The pressure control wire is connected to the large valve connection.
4. Label each fuel pipe and its corresponding hole in the fuel distributor. Carefully remove the dirt around the fuel connection and distributor opening, and then disconnect the fuel pipes.
5. Loosen and remove the pressure control connection from the fuel distributor.
6. Remove the safety plug from the carbon monoxide content adjustment screw in the exhaust gases, and then unscrew the three bolts securing the fuel metering distributor.
7. Raise the distributor, being careful that the measuring piston does not fall out of it. If the piston accidentally falls out, clean it in fuel and then install it back, beveled end down.
8. Before installing the distributor, pay attention to whether the piston can move freely up and down. If the piston is stuck, the distributor must be replaced, as the piston cannot be repaired or replaced separately.
9. Install the distributor, while putting on a new sealing ring, and after tightening the screws, protect them with paint.
10. Install the fuel pipes, and put on the safety plug on the screw for adjusting the carbon monoxide content in the exhaust gases.
11. Connect the clamps to the battery.
