Mounting the inner hinge

42. Installation must begin with the installation of the hub in the basket (photo 7.22).



43. Insert the balls into the sockets of the basket (photo 7.19)



44. Install the basket with the hub perpendicular to the hinge body and slide into the appropriate grooves. Install the ball basket and then rotate 90°in the direction of the larger ball track slot as shown by the arrow to align it parallel to the hinge plane (photo 7.23)



Pay attention that after assembly, the undercut on the splines of the hub must be on the side of the rubber casing. Determination of the required position will facilitate the preliminary: marking of elements before disassembly.


45. Check if the hub moves freely in its working semicircle.

46. Install the casing of the inner hinge 8 on the axle shaft 9, and then the concave spring washer 7 (pic. 7.1).



Note that this washer is larger than the similar washer found on the outer hinge and has teeth (photo 6.17).



The washer should be facing the concave side in the direction of the pivot hub.


47. Fix the axle shaft in a vice or on a press, and then drive or press the hinge onto the axle shaft using the corresponding metal tube 1, hitting the hinge hub.

48. Install the protective spring ring in the groove.

49. Squeeze grease into the joint, then slide the cover onto the joint housing.

50. Reinstall the rubber casing on the axle shaft so that after installation it does not deform, and its outer end coincides with the sign made during disassembly.
