Disconnect the electrical connector on the rear cover of the generator.
Loosen the alternator mounting bolts and tension bar (pic. 435), and then bring the generator to the engine and remove the V-belt.
Pic. 435. Generator mounting (engine 1.3 l): 1 - nut (M14x1.5); 2 - washer; 3 - key; 4 - pulley; 5 - bolt (М8х22); 6 - tension bar; 7 - bolt (M8x30); 8 - V-belt; 9 - bolt; 10 - bushing; 11 - generator; 12 - bolt (М10х40); 13 - bolt; 14 - bracket
Completely remove the alternator mounting bolts and remove the alternator itself.
The generator is installed in the reverse order. When attaching the generator, there should be no gap between its upper lug and the bracket bushing. Otherwise, remove the upper mount and replace the bushing. Place the V-belt in the pulley groove and move the alternator away from the engine. While holding it in this position, tighten the mounting bolts by tightening the bar. The V-belt can be considered correctly tensioned if the boom «A» (pic. 436) belt deflection when pressed with a finger in the middle of the longest section is 10-15 mm. Long bolt 13 (see fig. 435) fastening the generator and bolt 9 of the upper bracket is tightened with a torque of 35 Nm.
Attention! While tensioning the V-belt, it is unacceptable to move the generator with a pry bar resting against the back cover (from the side of the brush holder). Pressure can only be applied to the front cover of the generator.
After installing the V-belt, it is recommended to check its tension a second time after 10 km of run, since the belt will stretch slightly during this run.
