Checking the thermal switch

Disconnect the wire from the thermal switch and connect an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the wire and «weight». At low temperatures, the resistance must be very high. The warmer the engine warms up, the lower the resistance should be.

Errors can also be in the operation of the temperature gauge and temperature sensor. Disconnect the wire from the temperature sensor and connect to «weight» with the ignition off. Turn on the ignition. The arrow should move to the extreme right position. To avoid damage to the instrument, turn off the ignition quickly.
