The description refers to a carbureted engine. For a fuel injected engine, the following additional steps must be taken.
Attention! It is unacceptable to remove the block head if the engine temperature exceeds 40°C.
Disconnect the battery.
Drain the coolant.
Remove the air filter, disconnect the upper coolant pipe.
Disconnect all electrical wires from the block head.
Disconnect the fuel hoses, fuel control cable and vacuum booster hose. In the case of a fuel injected engine, disconnect the fuel system pipes and all low pressure hoses from the head of the block to the body.
All hoses suitable for the carburetor must be marked and then disconnected. Remove the toothed belt cover (pic. 40). Remove the toothed belt. Block the camshaft gear (by inserting a rod of a suitable diameter or a large rod screwdriver into one of the holes in the wheel and resting it against the head of the block), unscrew the bolts securing the toothed pulley. The pulley is equipped with an installation mark, which must take a certain position during installation.

Detach the rear cover behind the toothed pulley.
Remove the valve cover and oil deflector below.
socket wrench (12 mm) unscrew the bolts securing the head of the block and remove the head along with the gasket (pic. 41).

Attention! If warping of the mating plane of the block head is detected, it can be milled to a repair size, however, one should remember about the depth of seating in the cylinder head of the valve seats. Otherwise, the valves may break when they collide with the pistons. The maximum allowable dimensions are given in Table. 3.
