Checking with a special device
Start the engine and let it run at about 1000 rpm. Read the instrument readings.
After that, increase the engine speed by about half. The pointer on the scale of the instrument should deviate no more than±1°from the previous indication. Large deviations of the arrow indicate the presence of wear on the ignition distributor shaft. In this case, the ignition distributor needs to be replaced.
Compare the measured value with the set value:
Indications,° | |
Set value | 47±3 |
Wear | 42-58 |
This means that the setpoint on the new breaker contact must be adjusted and that if the closing angle is in the wear zone, it cannot be adjusted.
