General description of the four-speed gearbox 020 (4R)

The gearbox, as well as the main gear, are located in a common crankcase, and the dismantling of one of the nodes requires the obligatory displacement of the other. Repair or adjustment of the gearbox requires the use of special tools. Transmission Model 020 (4R) has modifications with minor differences. Some vehicles are equipped with indicators for the selected gear and instantaneous fuel consumption. In this case, in gearbox installed switch 2 (pic. 334), which includes the fuel gauge for the first three gears and the selected gear gauge.



This switch also functions as a reversing light switch. Gearboxes of this type have a modified design of the gear selection rod. The main gear has been changed so that the drive shafts are installed without backlash. The second change in the main gear is the absence of retaining rings at the pin of the satellites; in addition, the ring that fixes the gear selection rod has been replaced by two spring clips.
