Foot brakes
The front and rear brakes do not require additional adjustment, since the automatic adjustment mechanism ensures that the pistons approach the brake discs and the pads approach the drum surface in case the lining material wears out during operation. As the lining wears to a minimum, the brake pedal travel increases.
Hand brake
In vehicles with drum brakes, the handbrake is adjusted at the end of the handbrake lever inside the vehicle. Both ends of the brake cable are visible from the back of the handbrake lever. In vehicles with disc brakes, the handbrake is adjusted in the area of the brake seat. The hand brake needs to be adjusted only after the cable has been replaced. In vehicles with drum brakes, the handbrake is adjusted as follows.
Disconnect the handbrake.
Press firmly on it once.
Tighten the handbrake lever by 4 teeth.
Tighten the adjusting nut until while both rear wheels are still turning by hand (if they are lifted off the ground).
Release the handbrake lever and check that both wheels can turn freely.
