Repair of the brake booster cannot be carried out, since special tools are required during disassembly and assembly. The failure of the amplifier does not mean a loss of braking power, but only an increase in physical effort when pressing the brake pedal, necessary for the braking distance to remain the same.
The principle of operation of the brake booster can be checked as follows.
With the engine off, depress the brake pedal several times until all vacuum is bled from the system.
Depress the brake pedal with all your might and start the engine.
If the brake booster works flawlessly, then it is noticeable how the brake pedal returns to its original position.
The brake booster can be dismantled by removing the nuts attached to the four studs on the inside of the vehicle. care must be taken to ensure that a suitable servo brake is installed.
