Checking the hydraulic system for leaks

Since it sometimes happens that the liquid decreases in the system, it can be established with a little check where this occurs.

The second person turns the steering mechanism to both stop positions and leaves it in this position for a short time. Due to this, the maximum possible pressure is created in the system and at this moment the liquid can flow anywhere.

Check on the underside of the vehicle the area surrounding the steering gear (rotating spool), loosen the rubber collars on the rack and check the ends of the rack (gear rack sealing ring): Check the power steering pump and all hose connections. Oil leaking from these areas will indicate the location of the leak.
