The pressure hose is disconnected and the hydraulic fluid is allowed to pour into the reservoir.
The self-locking nuts are loosened at both ends of the tie rod housing, and the tie rod pivot is pushed away from the steering knuckle arm.
The pressure line and the hydraulic fluid drain line are disconnected from the steering mechanism. These lines are carefully pulled away so as not to bend them. The ends of the hoses are wrapped with synthetic film and tied together with adhesive tape so that no dirt can get into the hoses.
The intermediate shaft is disconnected from the steering mechanism. To do this, remove the clamping bolts and nuts.
The power plant is suspended by means of a cable on a lifting mechanism and lifted from the suspensions until it is possible to unscrew the bolts of the auxiliary frame without tension. The entire power plant is slowly lowered until then. until the two halves of the intermediate steering gear chamber separate.
Unscrew the nuts of the steering mechanism mounting clips and these clips are removed. The bolts remain in the sub frame.
Release the dust protection cuffs of the steering mechanism from their places on the steering mechanism and then they are pulled together.
The power plant, respectively, falls further or rises until then. until the steering mechanism can be pulled from the underside to the rear.
If the power steering mechanism is to be replaced with a new one, the tie rods must be removed.
