Filling the hydraulic system

After removing and installing the power steering mechanism, the system must be filled with fluid «Dexron» («Dexron») and finally remove the air.

Fluid that was poured out when the system was removed must not be poured again. The filter should always be replaced with a new one when replacing with a new power steering mechanism or changing the fluid.

This work must be done in the following sequence.

Fill the spare fluid reservoir to the top.

Start the engine briefly several times, but stop it immediately as soon as it starts to run. In this way, the entire system will be filled with liquid.

During this process, the liquid level in the reserve tank drops quickly and must be assessed along the way. This reserve tank must never be left empty, otherwise too much air will be sucked into the system.

If the liquid level drops more, then this means that the system is full. The liquid must be within the markings on the wall of this tank.
