The gearbox is equipped with an electric-electronic and hydraulic control system, as well as a self-diagnosis system. In the electrical or electronic section, faults are recorded in a special memory device, so that the workshop can quickly identify and eliminate faults. In addition, the gearbox will be able to switch to emergency mode (engaged in third gear) in the event that a failure occurs in forward gears, for example, an interrupted electrical circuit, a control device or a solenoid-operated switch is faulty.
Repair and adjustment of an automatic transmission is difficult and requires extreme care. To perform them, you need a little experience and a lot of special tools. Therefore, the repair of automatic transmission is carried out almost exclusively in specialized workshops. It is only necessary to control the fluid level in the gearbox and final drive, excluding the normal test run, during which the shift positions of individual gears are checked.
