Removal and installation of a door

Fastening elements of the front door

• 1 - door;
• 2 - external handle for opening the door with a support;
• 3 - body of the lock cylinder;
• 4 - plug;
• 5 - bolt, 18 Nm;
• 6 - door lock lock button;
• 7 - thrust of the lock button;
• 8 - protective cover;
• 9 - bolt, 20 Nm;
• 10 - shock plate of the lock;
• 11 - door lock;
• 12 - thrust;
• 13 - internal handle for opening the door;
• 14 - socket screw, 20 Nm + tighten by 90°. At installation it is necessary to use a new bolt;
• 15 - a bolt with an internal shaped recess, 20 Nm + tighten by an angle of 90°. When removing the door, only this bolt must be unscrewed. At installation it is necessary to use a new bolt;
• 16 - door hinge with door lock lever;
• 17 - a bolt with an internal shaped recess,
• 20 Nm + tighten by 90°. The bolt is screwed in from the inside of the car. To access the bolt, you must remove the inner upholstery of the front pillar of the door. At installation it is necessary to use a new bolt;
• 18 - a bolt with an internal shaped recess,
• 20 Nm + tighten by 90°. At installation it is necessary to use a new bolt;
• 19 - socket bolt, 20 Nm + tighten by 90°. At installation it is necessary to use a new bolt;
• 20 - protective cap;
• 21 - bolt, 13 Nm;
• 22 - door hinge;
• 23 - socket bolt, 20 Nm + tighten by 90°. The bolt is screwed in from the inside of the car. The instrument panel must be removed to access the bolt. At installation it is necessary to use a new bolt;
• 24 - socket bolt, 20 Nm + tighten by 90°. At installation it is necessary to use a new bolt;
• A - special tool HAZET-2597. Used to unscrew the bolts of the door hinge;
• B - T45 adapter for HAZET-2597-01 tool;
• C - fixing screw;
• D - internal multi-tooth socket wrench 4 mm VW-T10011. Used to unscrew the fixing screw of the lock cylinder body

Removing

1. Remove the side trim in the driver's footwell.


2. Disconnect all accessible electrical connectors.

3. Remove the plugs from the front pillar and the front end of the front door and pull the electrical connectors out through the opening.

4. Remove protective cap (20) and unscrew the bolt (21) fixing the upper hinge of the door.

5. Ask an assistant to support the door.

6. unscrew the bolt (15) fixing the bottom hinge of the door.

7. While moving the door up, remove it from the vehicle.

Installation

1. Install the door on hinges from above.

2. screw in the bolt (15) securing the lower door hinge and tighten it to 20 Nm, then tighten it by 90°.

3. screw in the bolt (21) into the upper hinge and tighten it to a torque of 13 Nm. Install the protective cap on the bolt.

4. Feed the electrical connectors through the holes in the front door pillar and plug them into the driver's footwell.

5. Install the side trim in the driver's footwell.
