Removing
1. Open the tailgate and hold it in this position.
2. Disconnect the rack from the back door.
3. To do this, use a screwdriver blade to lift the spring clip (2) and remove the upper part of the support from the spherical joint on the rear door (see fig. Rear Door Support Rack).
4. If it is necessary to remove the strut from the vehicle, remove the lower part of the strut in the same way.
5. When removing the rear door pillar, do not completely remove the spring clip from the ball joint, otherwise the spring clip will be deformed and the rack will have to be replaced.
6. If a new air strut is to be installed, the old strut must be vented to dispose of the gas.
7. To do this, fix the rack in a vice for section X (X = 50 mm). To avoid an accident, be sure to clamp the stand at the indicated area.
8. At a distance equal to 1/3 of the length, saw the body of the air strut. Use goggles to protect your eyes when sawing the stand.
Installation
Fasten the air strut to the rear door by pressing the strut with force until it is fixed on the spherical hinge of the door.
