Checking and removing
1. Remove the starter.
2. Using additional heavy gauge wires, connect the starter housing to the negative battery terminal and connect the positive battery terminal to terminal 50.
3. If at the same time the starter drive gear moves forward, but the starter motor does not rotate, then the starter motor is faulty or the contacts of the traction relay are burnt.
4. If the starter gear does not move forward, then the traction relay has failed and must be replaced.
5. Unscrew the nut and disconnect the wire from the starter motor to the lower contact of the traction relay.
6. Unscrew the screws and remove the traction relay from the starter.
Installation
1. Apply a thin layer of sealant to the surface of the traction relay mating with the starter (F).
2. Hook the anchor of the traction relay to the control lever, then screw in the screws that secure the traction relay to the starter.
3. Connect the starter motor wire to the bottom contact of the traction relay and secure it.
4. Check the operation of the traction relay.
5. Install starter.
