Warning: To ensure traffic safety, good visibility is of great importance, which can only be achieved when all windows are clear of ice, snow and there is no fogging of the windows.
Warning: The greatest heating of the passenger compartment and the fastest demisting of the windows are possible only when the engine reaches operating temperature.
Ventilation and heating controls
- knob A - temperature selection;
- switch B - fan;
- knob C - distribution of air supply over the nozzles;
- key D - air recirculation
Knob A - temperature selection
Turn clockwise - increase heating.
Turn counterclockwise - decrease heating.
Switch B - fan
The air supply is adjustable in four steps. At low speeds, always turn on the lower fan setting.
On vehicles with a dust filter, any position of switch B of the fan purifies the air of dust, soot, plant pollen, etc.
In position 0, the air supply is closed and the fan does not work. This, among other things, prevents the supply of polluted outside air into the passenger compartment. Since the windows may fog up in this case, the fresh air supply can only be shut off for a short period.
On vehicles with a dust filter, switch B position 0 is only necessary if the outside air smells bad. Dust particles, plant pollen, soot, etc. are retained by the filter.
Knob C - distribution of air supply to the nozzles
Regulator on the pictogram | Nozzles fully open | Nozzles slightly open |
1, 2 | 4 | |
5 | 1, 2, 4 | |
3, 4, 5 | 1, 2 | |
3, 4 | – |
Rear nozzles for air supply to the leg area are regulated together with nozzles 5.
Key D - air recirculation
By pressing the key, the air recirculation mode is switched on. When turned on, the control lamp in the key starts to glow.
In this mode, air is sucked out of the passenger compartment and then fed back into the passenger compartment.
To turn off air recirculation, press the recessed button again. The control lamp stops glowing.
The operation of the unit in recirculation mode prevents unpleasant odors from entering the passenger compartment, for example, when driving through a tunnel or when driving in a traffic jam.
If you want to raise the interior temperature particularly quickly, you can set the recirculation mode. In this mode, air is sucked in from the passenger compartment and heated.
Warning: The air recirculation mode should, however, be switched on only for a short time, as in this mode no fresh air enters the passenger compartment and the windows may fog up.
For safety reasons, the recirculation mode is not possible when the C knob is in the position.
In addition, the recirculation mode is disabled when you turn knob C from position "Air flow to the leg area" into position "Windshield deicing" all the way (see the position of handle C in fig. Ventilation and heating controls).
If the knob C is in the adjustment zone between the position shown in the figure and the position "Windshield deicing", recirculation mode is not possible.
