Measuring the wear of toothed belts on diesel engines

1. Release the three spring clips and remove the toothed belt guard.



2. Using a caliper, measure the width (A) toothed belt (arrows indicate the place of measurement). If the width of the toothed belt is more than 22 mm, then this indicates the approaching wear of the belt and the need to replace it.

3. When replacing the toothed belt, the belt tensioner must also be replaced.

4. Install the toothed belt guard and secure it with three spring clips.
