Operating position of the thermostat
- a - the thermostat is closed;
- b - thermostat open
Order of execution
1. Measure length (A) closed thermostat.
2. A rough test of the thermostat's performance can be made by hanging it on a thread in a glass vessel filled with water and heating the water to a boil.
3. When the water boils, the thermostat should open, otherwise replace it.
4. The thermostat opening temperature is marked on the thermostat housing.
5. When the thermostat is heated to the boiling point of water, the length of the open thermostat (b) must be greater than the length of the closed thermostat (A) by 7 mm.
6. A thermostat that does not close when the water cools should also be replaced.
