- 4 - accelerator pedal;
- 5 - remote bushing;
- 6 - bushing;
- 7 - disk;
- 8 - restrictive screw;
- 9 - nut, 20 Nm
Warning: The accelerator cable is very sensitive to kink, so the cable must be handled with care during assembly. Even one small bend in the cable can lead to a subsequent break during operation. Accelerator cables that have kinks are not recommended to be installed on a vehicle.
Press the accelerator pedal all the way down and secure it in this position, or ask an assistant to hold the pedal in this position.
Check if the throttle lever is against the full load limiter. Otherwise, adjust the accelerator cable.
Order of execution
1. Remove retaining clip (arrow), that secures the accelerator cable sheath to the bracket.
2. Move the accelerator cable sheath on the bracket until the throttle lever touches the maximum load limiter. In this position of the accelerator cable, secure the cable sheath with the retaining clip.
Models with automatic transmission
3. Slowly press the accelerator pedal. When the accelerator pedal approaches the stop, the forced downshift switch should operate.
2.3-I engine with automatic transmission
4. Disconnect the 2-pin electrical connector from the positive downshift switch (kick-down), located at the front of the engine compartment.
5. Connect an ohmmeter to the kick-down switch and measure the resistance, which should be infinity.
6. Slowly press the accelerator pedal. As the accelerator pedal approaches the stop, the resistance at the kick-down switch contacts should abruptly decrease to zero.
7. Otherwise, re-adjust the throttle cable or replace the faulty positive downshift switch.
