Speakers on the instrument panel
Removing
Attention! On the instrument panel on the left and right sides, one mid-tone speaker and one high-tone speaker are installed. Both speakers can only be replaced as a set.
1. Turn off the ignition and remove the key from the ignition switch.
2. Use a plastic wedge, such as HAZET 1965-20, to pry the cover over both speakers and remove it from the instrument panel. Start the wedge from the front side of the lining (see arrows in illustration).
3. Remove the screws (see arrows in illustration), remove the base board with both speakers and disconnect the plugs.
Attention! As of 05/03, the dimensions of the speaker base plate have changed. To mount this board on vehicles manufactured before 04/03, it is necessary to drill two holes in the instrument panel.
The speakers are installed in the reverse order of removal.
Low tone speaker
Bass speakers on the front and rear doors of the Touran are removed in the same way as on the Golf.
Rear tweeter
The tweeter is attached to the rear side of the rear side door upholstery and is soldered to the trim.
Its replacement is carried out together with the lining, which should be matched to the color of the door upholstery.
