0 - ignition off, steering locked
To lock the steering with the ignition key removed from the lock, turn the steering wheel slightly until you hear the click of the steering lock. It is recommended to always lock the steering when leaving the vehicle.
1 - turning on the ignition and preheating
Turn the key to this position and release it. If you cannot turn the ignition key from position 0 to position 1, move the steering wheel to both sides to unlock the steering wheel.
2 - engine start
In this position of the key in the lock, the engine starts. At the same time, large current consumers of the on-board network are temporarily switched off.
Before attempting to start again, the ignition key must be returned to position 0. The starter restart interlock in the ignition lock prevents the starter from being engaged while the engine is rotating and thus protects the starter from damage.
Attention! Remove the key from the ignition lock only after the vehicle has come to a complete stop! Otherwise, the steering lock may suddenly turn on. Danger of accident!
The starter should only be engaged when the engine is not running. Ignition key position 2. Engaging the starter immediately after turning off the engine may damage the starter or engine.
