The tire pressure display setting should only be checked if it has been changed.
Attention! If, as a result of tire heating, the system issues a pressure drop warning, but in reality the tire pressure is normal, then this erroneous warning can be removed and the system corrected. The tire pressure monitoring system uses wheel speed data from the ABS sensors to determine the circumference of the wheel. The change in wheel circumference is considered by the system as a pressure drop. A change in wheel circumference can be caused by the following reasons:
- a decrease in pressure;
- damage to the tire carcass;
- one-sided loading of the car;
- load on one of the axles of the vehicle, for example, when operating a vehicle with a trailer or when driving up or downhill;
- when installing snow chains on the wheels;
- when replacing only one wheel.
A change in tire pressure is signaled by the yellow light on the instrument panel (see arrow in illustration 25.0i).
A flashing signal light means that the control system has not been adjusted (initial setup not performed).
If the light is on and an acoustic signal sounds, this means that the system has detected a drop in tire pressure.
In this case, check the tire pressure and adjust the system.
