Tire pressure monitoring

As an option, Golfs can be equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system. This system uses the wheel speed data from the ABS sensors to determine the circumference of the wheel. A change in the circumference of the wheel is considered by the system as a pressure drop, which is signaled by a control lamp on the instrument panel.



There is another tire pressure monitoring system on the automotive equipment market. In this case, the pressure is controlled by sensors installed in the tires.

For the operation of this system, you must first set a sufficiently large number of different parameters related to tires.

RTF tires are on sale. These tires, thanks to the special reinforcement of the sidewalls, retain their shape in the event of a sudden loss of pressure and the car remains steerable.

At a speed of about 80 kilometers per hour with such a tire, you can drive up to 250 kilometers.

The installation of RTF tires is only allowed on models equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system.
