2. Attach a VAG 1306 oiler to the hood with gear oil of the required specification.
3. Unscrew plug A from the control hole (see illustration), remove bypass tube C and let the gear oil drain.
4. Remove the pan mounting bolts in a diagonal sequence and remove the pan together with the gasket.
5. Unscrew the mounting bolts (see arrows in illustration) and remove the oil pickup from the valve body, if necessary.
6. Clean the two magnets in the pan and make sure they are properly seated.
Installation of the pan and oil intake is carried out in the reverse order. Replace the old gasket and O-ring of the control hole plug with new ones. After installing the sump, fill the gearbox with gear oil.
