Vehicles with mechanical steering and power steering release before January 1984
Removing the anti-roll bar is not particularly difficult. Before installing the stabilizer, hang the front of the car so that the stabilizer bar can be set in the desired position (see photo).
Vehicles with power steering release from January 1984
Loosen the nuts securing the stabilizer bar struts to the suspension arms and remove the washers.
Loosen the nuts securing the stabilizer bar to the body.
Remove the stabilizer bar.
The stabilizer bar is installed in the reverse order, observing the specified tightening torques for the threaded connections.
Note. In case of removing the stabilizer struts, suspension arm or stabilizer bar, when installing them in place, make sure that the flat of the strut: stabilizer is located in the transverse direction - relative to the direction of movement of the vehicle.
Removal and installation of suspension arms
Hang the front of the car and remove the wheel.
Disconnect the anti-roll bar from the suspension arm.
Disconnect the ball joint from the suspension arm.
Unscrew the pivot bolts securing the suspension arm to the subframe and remove the arm.
Installation of the suspension arm is carried out in the reverse order of removal, without tightening the nuts of the pivot bolts securing the arm to the subframe.
Lower the front of the vehicle to the floor and tighten the nuts of the pivot bolts securing the suspension arm to the front subframe to a torque of 6 kgf·m.
