Specifications of the cooling system

The engine uses a liquid cooling system with forced circulation. The cooling system includes an engine water jacket, a radiator, an expansion tank, a centrifugal water pump, a thermostat and an electric fan.

Thermostat

• Main valve opening temperature,°С: 85.
• Full opening temperature of the main valve,°С: 105.
• Piston stroke of the main valve, mm: 7.

Water pump

The water pump is installed at the front left in the cylinder block. It is driven by a V-belt simultaneously with the generator.

Alternator and water pump drive belt

Belt type and brand: 9.5x950 La Continental B260 or Gates. The belt tension is considered normal if the belt deflection, when strongly pressed with the thumb on the middle of the belt branch between the crankshaft and generator pulleys, is within 10-15 mm.

Expansion tank

Pressure of opening of the reducing valve in a stopper of a tank, kg/cm³: 1,2-1,5.

Electric fan

The fan motor is turned on and off by the electric fan switch-on sensor located on the left radiator tank.

Electric fan brand: Bosch or AEG.

Temperature of inclusion of the electric motor of the fan,°C: 93-98.

Fan motor cut-off temperature,°С: 88-93.

Coolant

Capacity of engine cooling and interior heating systems, l: ~ 6.0.

Coolant used: mixture of distilled water and type antifreeze «G10» in the ratio of 60% and 40% (at temperatures up to -25°С).

Replacement frequency: every 22,500 km.
