Connect the stroboscope and tachometer according to the operating instructions.
Start the engine and set the engine speed to 950 rpm at idle. Aim a flashing strobe light at the crankshaft pulley. If the ignition timing is set correctly, then the mark on the crankshaft pulley should be aligned with the edge of the protrusion «Z», corresponding to the initial ignition timing to TDC, of the pointer on the engine block.
To adjust the ignition timing, loosen the nut of the ignition distributor flange mounting bolt and turn the distributor sensor housing to align the marks.
Tighten the nut of the ignition distributor flange bolt.
