Removal and installation of the lock / case of the cylinder of the lock of a back door

Variant Model

• 1 - lock cylinder body

Attention: Since 10/93, the execution has been changed, but the removal is carried out as before.

• 2 - nut, 6 Nm

With a non-falling puck.

• 3 - locking tabs
• 4 - hinge sleeve
• 5 - thrust
• 6 - plug

For luggage compartment light switch.

• 7 - lock
• 8 - countersunk head screw, 23 Nm
• 9 - lock cylinder plate
• 10 - countersunk head screw, 23 Nm

Removing

Remove rear door trim.

Cars with central locking system: additionally remove the drive rod by slightly pressing a screwdriver into the slot of the plastic latch and pulling the drive rod out of the guide lever.

Press locking lugs -3- together and remove lock cylinder housing.

Remove traction. To do this, open the hinge sleeve and remove the rod from the lock cylinder housing. Squeeze the rod out of the guide lever.

Disconnect plug -6- and unscrew lock.

Installation

Connect the plug, hang the rod on the guide lever and screw the lock.

Place lock cylinder body, secure and screw down.

Insert the rod into the hinge sleeve, press the guide lever against the lock cylinder and close the hinge sleeve.

Check the function of the lock and the lock cylinder, install the rear door lining.
