Checking the brake force regulator

The brake force regulator controls the pressure in the rear wheel brake drive system depending on the vehicle load. This prevents the wheels from locking up and improves vehicle stability when braking.

The brake force regulator is fixed at the rear under the body and is controlled by a spring connected to the rear axle.

Function test

The car must be on wheels.

Observe the operation of the brake force regulator with two people.

Depress the brake pedal strongly and release quickly. In this case, the lever of the brake force regulator must move.

To adjust the brake force regulator, an appropriate pressure gauge is required to measure the brake pressure (workshop work).
