The expansion tank is made of transparent material so that the brake fluid level can be checked from the outside at any time.
The fluid level must be between the marks «MAX» and «MIN».
Fill only with new brake fluid that meets FMVSS 11 6 DOT 4 specification.
Vehicles with ABS
The compensation tank is divided into 3 chambers: one chamber for each front wheel brake and one chamber for both rear wheel brakes.
To check the brake fluid level, turn on the ignition and wait until the electric hydraulic pump turns off by itself. This should happen within one minute. Turning off the pump indicates that the necessary working pressure has been created, which is necessary for the functioning of the brake system. In this state of the system, the brake fluid level should not exceed the mark «MAX».
Attention: With reduced operating pressure in the system, the liquid level may be slightly above the mark «MAX».
It is normal for the brake fluid level to drop slightly due to disc brake wear. When the brake fluid level is slightly above the mark «MIN» and at the same time the wear of the brake linings is close to the limit value, it is not necessary to replenish the fluid level.
If the level in the reservoir drops in a short time, then this indicates a loss of brake fluid.
In this case, it is necessary to immediately look for a leak. As a rule, the reason lies in the worn cuffs of the wheel brake cylinders. For safety reasons, the brake system should be checked by a specialist workshop.
