Shoe brakes of back wheels are regulated automatically. In this case, the pressure bar changes its length with the help of an adjusting unit and retains the structurally specified gap between the brake drum and the brake shoe unchanged.
For automatic adjustment, a wedge with a tension spring is located between the primary shoe and the pressure bar, which extends the pressure bar. After a single press on the brake pedal, the gap value is set equal to the specified value. If the pad movement due to wear becomes greater than the specified gap, then the tension spring pulls the wedge down. As a result, the working length of the pressure bar is increased and the brake pads are automatically adjusted.
