Checking the tightness of the steering gear

If there is no oil in the compensation tank, be sure to check the steering for leaks.

Start the engine and leave it to idle.

Turn the steering wheel in both directions to the stop and briefly hold it in this position. Due to this, the greatest pressure is created in the pipelines.

In this position, visually check the following components for leaks:

• 1. Rotary piston valve.
• 2. Seal the gear rack. To do this, release the collars of the corrugated cover and move it to the side.
• 3. Vane pump.
• 4. Piping connections.
