Wheel balancing

Serially produced wheels are balanced at the factory. Balancing is necessary in order to compensate for the uneven distribution of mass and inaccuracies in the material for the manufacture of wheels.

In operation, the imbalance becomes noticeable due to the occurrence of angular vibrations of the vehicle axle in the transverse plane and vibrations. At the same time, the steering wheel begins to tremble at high speeds.

As a rule, vibration appears in a certain range of driving speeds and stops again at a lower or higher vehicle speed.

Such unbalance phenomena over time can lead to damage to the suspension joints, steering gear and shock absorbers.

After every 20,000 km of runs, after each repair of tires, the wheels must be balanced, since the distribution of masses and material changes as a result of wear and after repair.
