If the vehicle is equipped with a catalytic converter, the following must be observed:
Fill vehicles with catalytic converters with unleaded fuel only.
In vehicles with a catalytic converter, the fuel tank must never be empty. When you run out of gas while driving (as well as the next time the engine is started), the engine runs intermittently for some time - during this time, unburned fuel enters the exhaust system, which can lead to overheating and destruction of the catalyst.
If there is a misfire and a decrease in engine power while driving, a malfunction in the ignition system may be the cause. In this case, unburned fuel enters the exhaust system, which can lead to overheating and destruction of the catalyst. In the event of an engine malfunction, reduce speed immediately and have the problem repaired at the nearest service station.
Do not turn off the ignition while driving.
Do not overfill.
Do not tow the vehicle for the purpose of starting the engine for a distance of more than 50.
Attention: Due to the fact that under particularly unfortunate conditions the catalyst can reach a very high temperature, the car must be parked in such a way that the catalyst does not come into contact with flammable objects (e.g. tall dry grass).
Note: Even if the catalytic converter works perfectly, under certain conditions a sulphurous smell can occur - this depends on the sulfur content of the fuel. This can often be avoided by switching to a different fuel (e.g. brand E).
