The automatic transmission uses a special oil for hydraulic systems such as ATF Dextron (sometimes referred to as working fluid)
The oil level in the automatic transmission should be checked periodically between the intervals specified in the maintenance plan. The vehicle must be on a level surface when checking the oil level. The oil level should be measured on a moderately warm transmission (about 10 km after starting a cold engine). At higher or lower temperatures, measurements may be erroneous.
The engine must be idling during the level check, the selector lever must be in the position "R".
Remove the dipstick to check (see picture), wipe it with a clean, soft cloth and insert it back until it stops.
Remove the dipstick again and inspect the level mark. The oil level must be between the two marks. If the oil level is out of range, it is recommended to have the cause of the level change at a service station - simply adding or lowering the level is not enough.
Oil change in automatic transmission
Automatic transmission oil should be changed according to the schedule specified in the maintenance plan.
Due to the problem of disposal, the need for special tools and skills, it is better to have oil and filter changes done at a service station.
Notes: Do not mix any additives with automatic transmission oil.
