Attention: Be careful when working in the engine compartment!
- Before work, turn off the engine, remove the key from the ignition
- Put the car on the handbrake
- Put the shift lever in neutral (automatic transmission selector lever - to position "R")
- Let the engine cool down. If the engine is hot, keep your hands and various objects away from the radiator fan, as it can suddenly turn on; do not open the cap of the expansion tank, because the cooling system is under pressure.
- Avoid short circuits of electrical equipment - especially batteries.
- If any check is made with the engine running, additional danger comes from rotating parts - belts, alternator, fan, etc., as well as high voltage in the ignition system.
- When working, follow the general safety rules.
- When topping up technical fluids, do not confuse them - otherwise serious malfunctions may occur.
- In order to timely detect leaks of technical fluids, regularly look under the car. If you notice oil or other liquid on the ground under the car, have the car checked at a service station.
