Spark plug

Spark plugs are replaced as part of a periodic maintenance (service) service.

If it is necessary to replace the spark plugs in an emergency, the following must be observed:

• Candles, as well as the entire ignition system, must match the specific engine model. Installing incorrect spark plugs can adversely affect emissions, traction and engine life. In order to avoid malfunctions associated with the installation of inappropriate spark plugs, use spark plugs recommended for this engine by Volkswagen. Of particular importance is the number of electrodes, the glow number of the candle and the presence of a device for suppressing radio interference.
• Spark plugs are constantly being upgraded, and Volkswagen service stations have up-to-date information on the applicability of new spark plugs to specific engines.
